Norris’ post-race thoughts

Lando Norris appeared impressed with his improvement during the Mexico Grand Prix after an abnormal qualifying race.

The McLaren driver finished 5th on Sunday in the race.

After making a surprising exit during Q1 of the races, Norris was seemingly happy with the outcome, despite not finishing on the podium.

He said: “Got the tires and everything into a good window.

The 23-year-old described it as: “Probably one of the best stints I’ve had almost ever, from 14th to 5th.

“Pace was amazing, very enjoyable, good overtakes, hard racing and was good fun.

When asked where he would have ended up in a normal qualifying, he replied: “I would have finished on the podium”
