Maxwell leads Australia to World Cup Semi Finals

Glenn Maxwell completed a 201 not out, sending Australia to the semi-finals of the Cricket World Cup.

The Australian helped his team to victory against Afghanistan, alongside suffering from both cramps and back spasms.

He said: “I froze up a little before I went to bat.

“Different body parts started going over time.

“I started breathing really fast and it was like I was going into shock.

“There was a little bit of panic because I just didn’t know what to do, I was in so much pain, I didn’t know how to stop it.

“I’ve just been battling to get my body right.

“I’m basically going from one machine to another to try and rehab and get myself right for the next couple of games”.

South Africa are Australia’s semi-final opponents.
