A controversial 1-0 win for Newcastle United sees Arsenal’s unbeaten run in the Premier League this season come to an end.
Although a somewhat balanced game, Newcastle United came out on top, thanks to an Anthony Gordon goal in the second half.
Despite 3 VAR checks, the goal was given to Eddie Howe’s side, causing a stir amongst the Arsenal players on the pitch.
Throughout the game, reckless tackles were made, including one from Kai Havertz on defender Dan Burn, another controversial moment, seeing him receive a yellow card.
At full time, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was unhappy with the decisions made by officials.
He said: “Embarassing, what happened, and how this goal stands in the Premier League.
“Twenty years in this country and now I feel ashamed.
“It’s an absolute disgrace.
“The outcome is nowhere near what this league needs to have.
Magpies manager Eddie Howe spoke highly of his team after the game.
He said: “The determination to hand onto our lead, from everybody, the collective effort was superb.
“I didn’t think it was a difficult game to referee, but in the end it sort of looked that way”.
